How We’re Finding Aberdeen

Heya loves, so as promised a few blog posts ago I thought I would write up something about our ‘kind of’ move to Aberdeen, just to let you all know why we’re here and what the crack is … if you’re interested anyway.

So just a lil background info for anyone who is new here, myself and my boyfriend come from the North-East of England, if you’ve heard of a parmo then you know where about’s that is. Martin’s job as an engineer has him working all over the place so for about two years we were doing the long distance thing and he was just coming home on weekends. Currently he’s placed in Aberdeen and has been here for a while now and is looking to be here for quite a few more months, so one day we were both like ‘why don’t I move to Aberdeen for a bit?” The TV station I worked for has a branch in Aberdeen and after talking to my editor at the time, she was up for me transferring. This would mean more time together during the week and taking the pressure off us to be together each weekend without feeling guilty if we wanted to do something else.

Thailand Part One

Hello everyone, so after my let’s face it, pretty deep first post of 2020, I wanted to turn this frown upside down and write about something which is exciting and makes me super happy. In November 2019, Martin and myself decided to continue our little travelling holidays, if you’ve been a reader of my blog for a while you’ll know we went to Vietnam in 2018, I wrote a couple of posts on our time there which I will link in this sentence. Anyway for our next trip we continued the South East Asia theme and went to … THAILAND! I know right, I can’t even believe we actually did it either. Of course I wanted to share our time there with you so I thought I would compile a few posts about our little adventure.

Like Vietnam, we had three weeks to travel and after some planning and research we decided that starting and finishing our trip in Bangkok seemed like the best option. Flights were around £500 each, which we actually thought was pretty reasonable as we expected them to be more, oh we booked with Oman Air who neither of us had ever flown with before so we were a little sceptical but life’s all about the risk right? Jokes, I did some research on Trip Advisor, can’t be hopping on a plane I know nothing about now can I? We also did a lot of research on the weather over there and decided November would be a good time as the rainy season is over but the crazy hot weather doesn’t come until January, and you know your girls curly hair would not withhold that heat!

Vietnam Part 3

Hello everyone I hope you’re all having a lovely week! So here we are, my third and final Vietnam post. I’m so sad we’re almost at the end because i’ve absolutely loved reminiscing about my travels in what has definitely been my favourite country to visit so far!

Let’s get into the final three places we explored on our adventure.

Vietnam Part One

Let me start off by saying Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had the most wonderful time and of course a magical Christmas!

If you follow me on my Instagram or Twitter then you’ll know back in November myself and my wonderful boyfriend Martin spent three weeks travelling Vietnam which was honestly THE most incredible thing i’ve ever done and I long to go back every single day.

So what I wanted to do was give you guys a lil breakdown of our adventures and share some of our experiences and recommendations just incase some of you are thinking of going to Vietnam any time soon or in the future which I strongly recommend.

I think i’m gonna break our trip down into three blog posts just because we did so much and I don’t want to keep you here for ages reading through my babble so here’s part one below.

Manchester Weekend

I think i’ve mentioned that Martin (my bf for those of you who don’t know) has been working away the last couple of months, right now he’s placed in Manchester which is only two and a half hours away … thank the lord! So we decided that last weekend I would go see him for a change as he usually travels home, not to mention he actually had to work that weekend so it kinda made sense for me to go if I wanted to see him, which of course I did!!

Things I Wish I Had Done Before 25

If you read my birthday wish-list post then you’ll know that I have just turned the grand old age of 25 … I mean I can’t deal! Just before my birthday I started reflecting on my life so far, you know as you do (I am not dramatic at all am I) and I randomly just began thinking of some of the things I wish I had done before now, I guess you could call them regrets in a way … I can hear you all now, ‘Oh Carolanne you sound so chipper, I can tell I’m in for a great time here’. I’m not trying to sound like a debbie downer but we all have things we wish we had done sooner or just in general, right?
