Hey you cool cats and kittens … sorry I couldn’t help myself!
So I know that now we’re reaching week three of lockdown, boredom is definitely starting to settle in … I know for me it is anyway! I’ve been trying to keep myself occupied so I thought I would share a few little ideas with you in the hopes of easing your pain even a tiny bit.
Do an Easter Egg Hunt – You don’t need to have kids in your household to have some fun with chocolate, the other day I decided to make a lil hunt for my boyfriend by hiding some eggs around the house and writing clues for him to help find them … honestly why am I so fun? For the person hiding the eggs and coming up with the clues this will probably occupy more of your time than the one whose actually finding them, let me tell you thinking of clues that rhyme can be tricky. Martin enjoyed it, well at least he said he did but he got lots of chocolate from it so I’m sure he’s happy. Not gonna lie I wish he would think of these fun things for me to do … guess I’m the creative one in this relationship.
Like most people I think I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the gym, I love that feeling after a good work out and it definitely helps me mentally, just being able to clear your head and focus on what set you’re doing is refreshing, not to mention I feel amazing when I can see results. The hate part comes from feeling guilty when I haven’t been for a week or if I’ve been overdoing it with the treats … which I definitely do! As much as I do enjoy the gym I sometimes think to myself “Damn, I’m gonna have to do this pretty much all my life to make sure I’m kinda happy with my body” and then my mind swirls into things like how am I going to get my body back after having kids some day but that’s just an example of how dramatic I can be at times.
Anyway, for a while now I’ve wanted to invest in some quality gym clothes from actual work out brands instead of wearing my same old Primark or Vietnam spesh ones … if you know me you know what I mean! So for my birthday this year my wonderful boyfriend surprised me with some different items that honestly I’m in love with, I truly feel ten times more confident in the gym when I’m wearing these new pieces, it’s so crazy how you can tell the difference in quality straight away, I don’t know if I’ll be able to go back to high street store bits, this might be an expensive do. So I thought I would show you guys my new lil pieces and I will put links in as always …
I wrote a little post a few month ago … okay so i’ve just checked and it was back in January, bit more than a few months ago, anyway the post was about getting back into the gym and how much I enjoyed it so I just wanted to do a little update on the gym and how I try and make sure I get my butt there.
I had a realisation about three weeks ago that i’m a quitter, I start and stop things religiously, take blogging for example i’ve taken more breaks from it than I care to admit and it really grinds my gears. Deep down i’d like to think of myself as quite a motivated person however I think I tend to let negativity take over and consume me, so a few weeks ago after much umming and ahhing I joined back up at the gym.
